HEADS OF DEPARTMENT (Academic)
Peng Ho, an accountant-banker-academic rolled
into one, is the Head of Accounting of AMI. Peng has been teaching
full time Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses in Business,
Accountancy and Banking & Financial services for the last 10
years and has also taught the offshore campus degree programmes of
the University of Canberra and University of Tasmania.
Previously the Head of Banking section of a major polytechnic in
Singapore , Peng managed and also taught the Diploma course in
Banking and Financial Services. He has always received above average
feedback from his students.
Before switching to an academic
career, Peng spent many years as a corporate banker in various major
international banks. These included Hongkong Bank, Svenska
Handelsbanken, a major Swedish bank and Challenge Bank, now the Bank
of Melbourne.
Peng is passionate about teaching, and having worked as an
auditor in a major international public auditing company and as a
corporate banker in various banks it has given him good exposure
that enables him to marry theory with practice in his teaching.
Besides just managing and teaching the course, Peng finds great
joy and satisfaction in helping young people “find themselves” and
to develop their full potential in life. Peng is no stranger to
living overseas alone as a foreign student because he completed his
Bachelor Economics degree with Monash University a while back. Years
later, he completed his Master of Business Administration with the
University of Adelaide.
Ask Peng for a quote and he will tell you, “The joy of teaching
is seeing students transform from caterpillars into
butterflies.”
